    Hello from Skara development central, where we have been busy bringing Skara’s full Alpha release to life.

    We got a little ahead of ourselves thinking we could release all the planned features beginning of May. So, instead of giving you a crappy improvement, we decided to wait a few weeks. We hope that didn’t put any of you off.

    Without further ado, here are the features that the new build is gonna bring to all our users:

    Gameplay features:
    · New arena: Zem Moorlands
    · New Game Mode: Domination Team Deathmatch
    · New playable Race: Khärn
    · New gameplay feature: Passive Skills
    · New gameplay feature: Race Abilities
    · User Experience: A brand new UI
    · Player progression unlocks new features
    · Player levels and Experience points
    · Full First Time Experience flow
    · Steam trading cards (yes, finally!)

    Things that might not be available for the May 28th build (but are almost ready and we are still hopeful about):

    Dedicated servers: We managed to install and try Dedicated servers and the performance is 90% perfect, although we want to test them with a higher number of users and try different dedicated server solutions. This feature will be available very soon, once we have tested and re-adjusted a few things to guarantee a perfect performance.

    Sound and music for the UI: We ran out of time to fully integrate sounds, music and SFX into our brand new UI. We hope this doesn’t ruin the experience, but this will be available very soon as well.
    Some key features some of you asked for: key bindings, Inverted Y Axis, improved functionalities in the menu, etc… We are working on them.

    Full store and game economy: This is a huge feature and we may release several iterations to make it work perfectly.

    Social features: Daily challenge, rankings, lottery games, trading, etc…
    We will of course let you know what made the build and what did not. And as usual, we value your feedback!

    We are plaing the new build today, and Kharn is ultra-enjoyable. They are extremely slow but can take enough damage to approach enemies and smash them with the maze. All their hits are unstoppable, so it´s just about defendeing and attacking in the right moment.

    The race skills are cool as well. Juggernaut charge performs a lava run which hurts everybody on its way (Groth style). Monster jump…. well, the only phrase to describe it is… HULK SMASH!

    ok those are the skills I was hopping you would come up with, I’m looking forward to trying them out and by the way I think the Lava element may bee the best for the Khärn however I wouldn’t exagerate the red on the efects since people could misjudge it for the same as the celea’s ash like element. by the way what kind of projetiles are you planing the khärn to have because I have an idea….. to stick to the hole mace primary weapon theme let the khärn throw smaller maces. you can never have enough brutality in a multiplayer game.

    Yes, Lava and stone will be the elements associated to Kharn, so it match with the Coliseum look.

    Regarding the projectiles, they will be stones or small rocks in this build. Then, we´ll need to sit down with the team and define all the projectile for each race.

    Unfortunately we will delay the alpha release a couple of days. We want the experience to be perfect and right now we have small but annoying bugs that need to be addressed before moving on. We´ll keep you posted. Thanks for your patience!

    Thanks a lot! We expect the new version to be uploaded on Sunday, althought a small delay will be possible if we are not able to smah a few bugs!
